Cutting the tongue for a more comfortable fit

Last Updated: Feb 25, 2015 01:30PM PST
Depending on your arches you may experience a bit of discomfort where the tongue of your she ends. There is a very straightforward solution to this comfort built into every pair of SIDIs. Near the end of the tongue you'll find slits cut into the last bit of techno micro material. For clarity's sake I've highlighted the slits in red in the image below and I've also removed all components of the soft instep strap.

The solution is to cut the slits at any points that are putting uncomfortable pressure on your foot. Depending on the amount of discomfort you feel you may only need to cut one or two of the slits, or perhaps you'll need to cut more.

Once you've made the necessary cuts you'll find there is much less pressure in that area which should lead to a more comfortable riding experience. You can employ this method with confidence as it is fully endorsed by SIDI and will not void your warranty.
